FTIR as a Powerful Tool for Measurements of Diffusion in Supercritical Carbon Dioxide Using Taylor Dispersion Method

A new experimental high-pressure setup for measuring diffusion coefficients in supercritical fluids, based on Taylor dispersion method, and using an FTIR detector to operate up 25.0 MPa was designed optimized. Tracer diffusivities, D12, of toluene benzene carbon dioxide were measured the temperature range 306.15–320.15 K, pressure 7.5–17 evaluate protocol. The effects flow velocity, volume cell, absorbance at different wavenumbers coefficient as well all parameters respecting method have been analyzed. obtained are excellent agreement with available literature data. dependence D12 temperature, pressure, solvent density examined. Some correlation models hydrodynamic theory used estimate dioxide, which is best improved version Wilke–Chang model.
